LeBron James holds the record for spending the most time on an NBA court out of all players. This was evident when he reacted to missing a three point attempt during the second half of a game against the Orlando Magic on October 30, 2023 in Los Angeles, as a forward for the Los Angeles Lakers.
During the game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, the Los Angeles Lakers’ top player broke a record by surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the highest number of minutes played in the NBA. This incredible feat includes playing time during both regular season and playoff games.
In February, James broke Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record when he scored his 38,388th point during a game against the Thunder. At 39 years old, James has played in 1,519 games between the regular season and playoffs, compared to Abdul-Jabbar’s 1,797 NBA games. It’s worth noting that James is currently averaging 33.9 minutes per game, which is the lowest total he’s had in a full season throughout his 21-year career.
