Ayesha Curry and Steph Curry are proud parents of three kids. Their eldest, Riley, is now 10 years old, followed by Ryan who is seven, and Canon who is four. Reflecting on their parenting journey, Ayesha now feels that they could have taken a different approach to handling social media in raising Riley.
Back when the Golden State Warriors player was starting out, Riley frequently popped up alongside Curry and tagged along for some victory parties after games. Fast forward to today, and her parents are reflecting on whether putting Riley in the spotlight was the best decision considering the evolution of social media.
“When social media emerged, we had no idea what it would become,” remarked Ayesha Curry in an interview with Insider. Reflecting on the chaos it brought to their lives, she expressed, “If we had known how overwhelming it would be, we might have reconsidered. But back then, we were just living our lives, thinking, ‘This is our child, we’re sharing our journey.'”
Navigating the fine line between being strict parents and allowing their kids to explore life has been a challenge for the Currys. Ayesha wonders, “Where’s the middle ground?” and acknowledges the need to find a balance. As she aptly puts it, “You just learn as you go, right?”
Riley Curry, the daughter of Ayesha and Steph Curry, took center stage at a young age. Born in 2012, she captured public attention at just two years old when she joined her father at a press conference. Now 10, Riley occasionally appears in her parents’ social media posts, although they try to shield her from the limelight more these days. Steph and Ayesha first crossed paths in North Carolina as teenagers before tying the knot in 2011 at the ages of 23 and 22, respectively. They welcomed Ryan in 2015 and Canon in 2018, completing their beautiful family.
